CAMBRIDGE GaN DEVICES

FWT first invested in Cambridge GaN Devices in 2021. So far, a total of £1.9 million has been invested over two rounds. The semiconductor company is using its funds to develop energy efficient GaN-based power devices to make greener electronics possible.

They have developed Integrated Circuit Enhancement Mode GaN, a novel platform that improves static and dynamic performance with greater ease of use and reliability. The technology has the benefit of saving over 50% energy due to higher switching frequency and lower on-resistance. The devices also have the added benefit of being 2x smaller enabling easier integration.
