In August 2017, Singer client and Porsche enthusiast Scott Blattner, requested lightweighting and high-performance enhancements for his 1990 Porsche 964. Singer undertook a Dynamics and Lightweighting Study (known as DLS) with Williams Advanced Engineering, engaging Williams and a formation of world-leading technical partners to develop a selection of restoration and modification services strongly oriented toward lightweighting and dynamic improvements to the vehicle.

The result is the DLS, which will be produced on the Williams site in Oxfordshire at a new Singer facility known as Singer at Grove. Drawing on Williams Advanced Engineering’s skills gleaned from the world of top level motorsport, this exceptional high performance car features a Porsche four-valve, four-camshaft, naturally aspirated, 500HP engine developed by Williams Advanced Engineering, underbody and surface aero performance optimized through CFD analysis by Williams, improved suspension philosophy and further weight reduction using lightweight materials, also developed by Williams.

The first DLS examples debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2018.
