Sam Coughlin is the Chief Operations Officer for Williams Advanced engineering, Sam is responsible for the organisational operations and delivery across the WAE business.
Sam brings over 20 years of multi sector international leadership experience. Prior to joining WAE he was Managing Director of UK based Stelling Modular, an innovative construction design and manufacturing company. Sam also served at Prodrive, holding both Director of Programmes and Operations positions for Prodrive Advanced Technology working with customers such as Aston Martin, Rolls Royce Aero and Volvo. Sam has extensive experience in the international arena, where he held General Management positions at Futuris, a Tier 1 Automotive supplier. During his time there he established a market entry in Thailand, launching a large green field manufacturing operations and engineering business unit that supplied seating and interiors products to Ford, GM and Mazda. After moving to California Sam led a new manufacturing and development business unit in the bay area of San Francisco, supporting Tesla model S and Model X launches with engineering and product supply.
Having started his career as a mechanical engineer he initially worked for Adient and then Ford motor company in various engineering and design leader roles, supporting development and vehicle launches in UK, Germany and Australia.
