Investment Analyst

Williams Advanced Engineering (WAE) exists to accelerate the advantage and impact of our clients. We do it through innovative engineering and technology that solves complex problems and brings a step-change in weight, speed and efficiency. Join us to help fulfil our mission to accelerate an efficient, electric and sustainable future.

A superb opportunity has arisen to start a career in Venture Capital (VC) and join our Technology Ventures team which invests in early-stage science and technology companies through the Foresight Williams Technology funds and Sainsbury’s Innovation Investments. The team scouts and evaluates the next generation of strategically relevant and impactful intellectual property (IP) based deep tech companies. We are now looking to recruit an Investment Analyst to join our expanding team.

This role will primarily focus on scouting and researching new investments, supporting new and follow-on investments, and coordinating Technology Ventures’ processes. The ability to reach out to and build relationships with potential investee companies is essential. The successful candidate can expect to be involved in the entirety of fund operations and throughout the investment process.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate a passionate interest in technology, innovation, sustainability and business. They should have a strong academic background with a degree in a scientific, engineering or other technical discipline, supported by relevant commercial experience. Applicants may have an entrepreneurial background or in technology commercialisation, eg in technology transfer or with a technology innovation related organisation. Experience investing in deep tech, clean tech, working in a start-up, working towards net zero or implementing sustainable practices within industry would be a bonus.

The Technology Ventures team has a highly entrepreneurial culture which provides an exciting environment in which to start and develop your VC career. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious professional who is keen to move into early-stage technology investment.
