An opportunity has arisen for an Advanced EOL Test Systems Engineer to support the battery and power pack industrialisation plans. This role will be instrumental in advancing our manufacturing capabilities through creation and execution of defining the manufacturing strategy for characterization, verification, and safety tests on prototypes, pre-production, and high-volume assembly lines. This role will also be responsible for the initial analysis, solution design, on-site application, and technical support of testing system implementations.
Job role:
- To lead and support strategic direction for the high-volume testing systems for characterization, verification tests for module and pack assemblies.
- Provide clear and concise specification documentation for test equipment.
- Act as strategic partner for the Battery Engineering team and help capture failures in early builds, FAT and SAT for the equipment and in series production.
- Drive the detailed work with engineering to facilitate resolution on the failure.
- Assist in failure analysis process by providing detailed information surrounding failures in products.
- Design, implement and document new electro-mechanical test fixtures, production interfaces and harnesses.
- Build LabVIEW or other programs to log data, communicate with test articles, and process data.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues with test equipment.
- Prioritise and complete tasks to meet deadlines.
- Provide design input to improve product reliability, when necessary, interact with a wide variety of individuals and teams to communicate results.
- Create work instructions and best practices for other engineers and technicians to follow.
- Create and maintain test procedures and reports.
You’ll have:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related Engineering fields or extensive equivalent relevant experience.
- Proven testing experience in the automotive or transportation industries. Understanding of high voltage storage systems or powertrains a plus.
- Experience with LabVIEW, data acquisition systems, digital and analog interfaces for PCs, test systems.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as python, MATLAB, C, VBA.
- Experience in an R&D testing and High-volume environment.
- Experience with test instrumentation (i.e., temperature, flow, pressure, current, voltage).
- Experience with testing electro-mechanical systems and electronic circuit components.
- Familiarity with the high voltage products, automotive CAN communication networks, and Requirements Management systems.

Our Headquarters are based on the Williams technical campus in Grove, Oxfordshire, UK. 20 minutes’ drive South of Oxford, UK. This role will primarily be based at our new facility in Kidlington, just north of Oxford.
