Williams Advanced Engineering are currently recruiting for a permanent Battery Test Technician to join our Battery Systems team.
Reporting to the Principal Engineer, this is a role where the successful individual will be responsible for various aspects of battery testing including but not limited to: set up, rig development, system testing, equipment maintenance, rig hardware maintenance and basic data analysis.
Duties will include setting up battery testing and following test procedures, building and developing test rigs and maintaining test rig hardware.
In this role, you will perform basic data analysis and be able to communicate results quickly to the team. You will be able to tailor your communication skills when talking to all levels of seniority.
A working knowledge of HV battery systems, battery safety, thermal runaway and propagation, degradation mechanisms associated with Li-ion batteries and cell technology would be advantageous for the successful individual.
It will be advantageous to have machine shop experience for this role and the ability to build wiring and looms. Experience in battery test methods, data analysis in MATLAB and cell test data analysis also, as well as a familiarity with LabVIEW, NI Hardware and Speedgoat.
The successful candidate must be educated to HNC level in an engineering subject and have a hands-on approach to engineering. Your strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team in a highly disciplined and organised workspace will be essential.
