Industrial Placement 2022 – 2023 – Formula E – Powertrain

The capabilities of Williams Advanced Engineering’s people in new materials, electrification and battery technology, aerodynamics and thermodynamics, business performance and specialist low volume manufacturing apply across all sectors, including from automotive and motorsport to aerospace and defence or energy and sports science to healthcare.
We operate a 13-month (August 2022 – August 2023) student placement programme within the Formula E team. This is an exciting opportunity where you will work with highly skilled engineering professionals and graduates who you can learn from and develop with – the more questions you ask, the more you will gain from your experience. It is important to know that many of our industrial placements have been successful in obtaining graduate roles on completion of their degree.
The Powertrains placement is an opportunity to work with an electrified powertrain on many areas including mechanical, thermal, electromagnetic, electrical, electronics, software and rig testing. We use very latest techniques, materials and components to make best electrical powertrain. Working closely with a small group of experienced engineers, you will have the opportunity to work directly with cutting edge powertrain technology.
To be eligible for our Powertrain placement, you should be working towards a degree in Electrical, Automotive or Motor Sport Engineering. An understanding of electronics or mechatronics would be advantageous along with CAD design and Siemens NX.

- Relevant leisure pursuits and activities.
- Why work experience with the Company would be beneficial to you and why Formula E specifically.

Due to the volume of applications we receive we can only give feedback to applicants that attend the selection process.
Due to the short-term nature of student placements, we are unable to accept applications from candidates who do not have entitlement to live and work in the United Kingdom and we are also unable to accept students in their final year of University.
Those students that are shortlisted will be invited to attend an assessment. It is expected that the student takes sole responsibility for making suitable travel and accommodation arrangements.
The selection process will begin in November.
