Electrical Technician

Williams Advanced Engineering are currently recruiting for an Electrical Technician to join our Formula E Team on a permanent basis.  This is an integral role working with the Lead Electrical Build and Support Technician to ensure all electrical operations and equipment are in line with operating requirements.

Key duties include the manufacture of electrical harnesses and other electrical assemblies ensuring that all assemblies are built to procedure and that checklists (where applicable) are completed and visible for inspection.  You will also be required to assemble and disassemble race/test cars and their components, ensuring they are built to agreed standards and that any discrepancies are highlighted to senior managers.

Other responsibilities include the reporting of faults and recording the cause of any downtime or delays as well as ensuring all cars, sensors and equipment are built to agreed electrical specification.  You will also manage the build and operation of electrical garage facilities at test and/or race events.

To be successful on the role you will have previous harness build experience (preferably to a mill-spec standard).  Previous experience in motorsport is desirable but not essential.

You will be able to demonstrate that you are an excellent team player, who will maintain positive relationships with all other departments.  The successful candidate will be flexible with strong time management skills and will proactively support the team to complete its workload.  You will have good prioritisation skills, particularly in a fast paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.

Some travel and attendance at race, test and/or PR events will be required.

In compliance with national Secure Freight Consigner conditions, five years’ continuous employment, education and/or training must be evidenced and any gaps exceeding 28 days accounted for. A DBS (criminal record) check will also be carried out. This will be covered in more detail during the interview process.

This is an exciting opportunity to further your career within Williams Advanced Engineering Limited.
